Part One of a Four Part Mini-Series: The Future of Portable Communication
The small device we carry in our purses and pockets is no longer just a telephone without wires. The complexity and richness of handset design features has increased dramatically in just a few short years and are changing the way we interact with each other and with information. Come join a lively discussion about the future of handsets/portable computers and their impact on our lives today.
Topics to be explored:
– What functions will the handsets of the future hold?
– What features are most important to the different demographics: early adopters, traveling executives, teenagers
– Must phones be able to communicate with both the cell and WiFi networks?
– Is the phone a computer or is the computer a phone?
– How are user interfaces evolving?
Moderator: Julie Ask, Senior Research Director, JupiterKagan
