With more and more attention being focused on mobile computing, NACSA held a seminar to help our member understand the current two major platforms for mobile computing: ARM and x86 and their development trend. The theme is ‘Industry Landscape in Mobile Computing”. Two distinguished guest speakers, who are experts in the respective fields, shared their knowledge and perspectives on the challenges and market opportunities of mobile computing.

The 1st presentation was given by Dr. James Cheng, Director of Sales and Marketing in ST-Ericsson America. The title is ‘Industry landscape in mobile computing’. He provided details of mobile access technology, smartphone design challengers and his vision on mobile platforms. The next speaker was Mr. Anthony Yung, Marketing Manager of Intel Corp. The title of his speech is ‘Enabling the Mobile Internet’. He vividly demonstrated how the mobile computer will change people’s life.

The presentations were well received by NACSA’s members as well as outside attendees. We have to close the RSVP 4 days before the event keep the audience under the room capacity limit. Despite the raining weather, about 60 people attended the seminar. They showed a great deal of interest in the presented topics and asked so many questions that some of them had to be stopped to keep the time.
