In this forum, Mr. LIU Chuanzhi, the world distinguished entrepreneur, will talk about the legendary story of his company Legend Holdings which started from 11 people and 200,000 RMB in 1984, and became a leading Chinese technology company which had successfully acquired IBM PC division in 2005, known as Lenovo today. Legend Holdings is a Giant International Enterprise today with 42,000 employees and over 87 billion RMB in asset, with its subsidiary company Lenovo being one of the top brands and largest OEMs of personal computer in both China and worldwide. When the high tech industry was hit by the financial tsunami of 2008, Mr. LIU came back to the board and rejuvenated Legend with new visions and strategies. Growing over the last two decades in the greatest economic booming in Chinese history, Legend Holdings explored a Chinese way of high tech industrialization. By taking roots in Chinese market, it outstood the foreign competitors and drove the growth of IT industry in China. It has pioneered the reform on enterprise ownership, accomplishing the shareholding restructuring. It has also cultivated younger generations of business leaders and established its own management philosophy and methods with “three key management elements” as its core competitiveness. Today with his great vision and outstanding leadership, Mr. LIU continues to lead his Enterprise beyond the mission of “contributing to the country with industrialization and growth” to achieve further success with more significant global influence.
