NACSA 2009 China Trip Delegation

Building on the huge success of last year’s event, NACSA cordially invites and encourages you to join the 2009 China Trip delegation. The delegation will again visit major development areas, leading corporations as well as key research and academic institutions in China. As a great way to build business and personal relationships, participants will be able to have direct dialogues with high-ranking government officials, corporate executives, and potential investors in China.

Objectives:
Have direct dialogues with high-level business executives and government officials in China on career, business, and investment opportunities.

Exchange information first-hand on industry standards, trends, and policies.

Find out how entrepreneurs and executives live and work in China
Build long-term relationships with other members in the delegation

When and Where (Tentative):

The following cities will be targeted for this year’s China Trip:

Oct. 11-13: Beijing, Tianjin
Oct. 14-17: Sichuan (Chengdu, Chongqing)
Oct. 18-25: Shanghai and Yangtze Delta (Suzhou, Wuxi, Zhengjiang, Hangzhou, Jiangying, etc.).

In addition, we will be attending the IC China conference as well as visiting high-tech zones, local governments, large/small companies, VC's, etc.

Who Should Apply?
(1) High-tech/Green-tech/Auto industry executives/entrepreneurs/professionals who:
Have genuine interest/business needs to undertake China-related projects
Are currently seeking market expansion opportunities or to tap into the vast resources in China for growth.
Are looking for funding for startup, product development, or business initiatives.
Want simply to learn the various aspects of starting/running a business in China, from government policy and industry trends to quality of life.

(2) Top talents in the areas of high-tech/Green-tech/automotive, finance, marketing, sales, and accounting who are interested in exploring executive-level (i.e., VP level or above) career opportunities in China.

How to Get Qualified?
Applicants must:
Have at least a Master’s degree and/or ten years of working experience in relevant industry. Exceptions may be made on a case by case basis depending on the merits of the business plan.
Submit a two-page executive summary of the business plan along with a bio to Chinatrip2009@nacsa.com, both in English and Chinese. Applicants may use the attached template if so desire. (Note: for applicants who are mainly exploring career opportunities, no business plans are needed.)
Speak English and/or Chinese.
Be able to obtain a visa to enter China and return to the US.

Application Deadline (Tentative)
August 31, 2009
The selected applicants will receive an email notice from NACSA by Sept 10, 2009.

Money Matters:
A deposit of $500 is required for all participants.
Participants are responsible for making their own travel arrangements and paying for their own international roundtrip airfares.
While in China, participants are still primarily responsible for their own cost; NACSA will arrange with the hosting cities to help defray the cost of the trip whenever possible.
